A large corpus of open-source English-language legal and administrative data, covering court opinions, contracts, administrative rules, and legislative records; texts come from CourtListener, the Constitute Project, the European Court of Human Rights’ published opinions (ECHR Dataset here), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s collection of credit card agreements, and many other sources. The utility of the data is twofold: (1) to aggregate legal and administrative data sources that demonstrate different norms and legal standards for data filtering; (2) to collect a dataset that can be used in the future for pretraining legal-domain language models, a key direction in access-to-justice initiatives. Vital Signs is a compendium of data points, compiled from a variety of reliable sources, that “take the pulse” of Baltimore’s neighborhoods. Each community in Baltimore can see its Vital Signs that comprise a set of data which, taken together, form a picture of any given neighborhood’s quality of life and overall health. Tens of thousands of data items from dozens of federal and state sources, along with some commercial or private source data, and the tools to help researchers utilize the data. Data formats include indexes, rankings, calculations, graphs, comparisons of time or geography, and maps. With the provided tools, data can be compared among counties and regions, as well as across time. Researchers may also download data sets in .csv format, some with user guides.
Data is updated as released by sources, often within a few days of public release.
