How to Use this Guide

This Research Guide was created primarily to support students in the Toxic Torts seminar, but It will also be useful for anyone who is researching environmental issues. The Guide gathers resources from the Library's digital and print collection, as well as carefully selected tools and resources available on the Web. Many of these resources are subscriptions that are only available to current UB School of Law students, faculty, and staff. The content is organized into secondary sources (discussion of the law) and primary sources (the law itself). As a general rule, scholarly research is more efficient if the researcher starts with secondary sources to get an overview of a topic, and then turns to primary sources.

Current Awareness

Finding, refining, and updating research topics is much easier if you regularly monitor the news and scholarship in your discipline. The UB Law Library has created a Research Guide for Alerts and Current Awareness that shows how to set up automatic searches that will push new information to you.
