Maryland Administrative Law is comprised of regulations which are promulgated by various agencies, decisions that the agencies and the Office of Administrative Hearings make and various different procedural rules.
Administrative agencies in Maryland have powers akin to the legislature or the judiciary. They promulgate rules and make decisions on certain aspects of law. According to the Maryland Rules, administrative agencies can include "any agency, board, department, district, commission, authority, commissioner, official, the Maryland Tax court, or other unit of the State or of a political subdivision of the State." In addition to these quasi- legislative and judicial functions these agencies also issues permits and licenses and regulate businesses and various industries.
A list of agencies is available from the Maryland State Agency Directory
