  • US Department of Labor: Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS)
    The VETS program has a collection of resources to assist veterans, active duty military, and employers in locating and matching military personnel with employment. Divisions are clearly labeled for Service Members, Family, Veterans, Employers, Service Providers, and Updates.
     
  • US Small Business Administration: Office of Veterans Business Development
    SBA has a diverse assortment of programs available to assist veterans, reserve members, family, and survivors with small businesses. The SBA provides information on starting a business, competing for grants, and hiring employees. A list of programs (Operation Boots to Business, Women Veterans Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship, and Operation Endure and Grow) is available. Resources include a "Balancing Business and Deployment Guide" and "Getting Veterans Back to Business."
     
  • TurboTAP Employment Assistance
    This Department of Defense site includes a Career Decision Toolkit incorporating the many components involved in developing a career, including Career Exploration, Financial Planning, Job Search, Effective Resumes and Cover Letters, and Interviewing Skills. Additional material is available on transition, from Relocation Assistance to Leaving the Service. The full transition services are available after separartion from the military.
     
  • Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program
    The VetSuccess program assists Veterans with service-connected disabilities to prepare for, find, and keep suitable jobs. For Veterans with service-connected disabilities so severe that they cannot immediately consider work, VetSuccess offers services to improve their ability to live as independently as possible.

    Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), this website has general resources, job postings, and a place to post resumes.The VetJobs website connects transitioning military personnel, veterans and their family members with organizations who are searching for highly trained, reliable and mission-oriented employees
  • Veterans Enterprise
    This military and veterans' business network consists of a blog, an online magazine, a career gallery and search engine, and listings for additional veterans' organizations.
  • Army Career and Alumni Program
    An official Army website. This content-rich website includes transition and employment assistance, VA benefit and education information, and an employers' portal.
  • Transition Assistance Program TAOnline.com
    The site has quick references and online tools, including online calculators, planning sheets, and checklists for transitions.  It provides general guidance for military members transitioning to civilian life. In addition to job postings, the site also contains tips for resume writing, career planning, interviewing successfully, and military friendly companies.
  • Helmets to Hardhats
    This website offers specific advice regarding transitions from military service to construction industry careers.
  • Troops-to-Teachers Program (Department of Education)
    Grant program to place former military service members as teachers in high-poverty schools.
