Resources for Students and Faculty During the Covid-19 Closings: Online Casebooks

Online Access to Casebooks

Online Casebook Access for UB Law Students

Carolina Academic Press:

Our VitalSource (VST) partner just announced a program this morning that will allow affected students to access their ebooks on the VitalSource platform for free through May 25!

Students just have to create a VitalSource BookShelf account if they don't already have one and use their SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESSES to login (the VST software will check the email address to confirm students are at an affected school before allowing free access, so it won't work if they use gmail or something like that).

Here's the link to the BookShelf login page:

https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/#/user/signin

Once they create an account and log in they should see an "Explore" tab in the upper left corner of the screen. From there, they should be able to find your ebook to access. (If they already have a VitalSource account, they should log in as normal. They should see the "Explore" tab", too, and go from there.)

This was just launched this morning, so it's all pretty new. Please let me know if you or your students have questions. It sounds very straightforward and easier than having to dole out individual codes! Students shouldn't have to put in credit card information or anything like that. Tell them not to buy anything. If it's creating a charge, something isn't right, so let me know. (Beth Hall = bhall@cap-press.com)

West/Foundation Press:

Students should call (877) 888-1330 and speak with a customer service representative for help getting those eBooks needed. They said it would be helpful if students could set up an account at: https://eproducts.westacademic.com/ ahead of time. It should be the same one you set for your West Academic Study Aids account.
